In the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park, Cogne is a natural oasis for those who love to walk surrounded by eagles, chamois, wild goats, marmots and alpine flowers and plants along paths that lead to lakes, farmsteads, waterfalls and alpine huts and where you can walk until you reach renowned alpine destinations such as the peaks of Gran Paradiso (m.4061) and Grivola (m.3969). From June to October the fishing reserve is the goal of fishermen of all nationalities. |

In winter the cross country ski runs join together to make up over 80 km of piste and go through the hamlets of Valnontey, Lillaz, Cretaz and Epinel where you can discover hidden corners of mountain life. Downhill skiing is more limited with 2 chairlifts, 1 cable car, a ski-lift and 8 km of piste, but it is ideal for relaxing skiing without queues. The ski school has a large number of instructors highly qualified in cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark and carving for both beginners and more expert skiers.

If you are not interested in skiing, Cogne offers long walks and sledge rides and an ice skating rink. In the evening you enjoy yourself in the Taverna and discotecque. (Cogne is the ideal place for a relaxing week in the mountains without all the hustle and bustle of the big resorts.) |
